Mayim's Vegan Table - Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

So after months of flicking through various vegan cookbooks in the shops, I've finally found one that's full of recipes i actually want to make. A lot of the books i'd previous seen were just full of different types of salad, but Mayim's one includes some of my favourite foods like macaroni cheese and shepherd's pie. There's even recipes for pancake batter and french toast to doubt the people who think we need eggs and milk to make a good breakfast.

I decided to jump straight to the dessert section at the back of the book, and made a batch of oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips. I don't think the photo does them justice, but they really were delicious. And i hadn't used all my oats making them, then i'm pretty sure i'd be making another batch just now.

There's so many great recipes in the book and i'm already planning to eat mac n cheese for dinner most nights next week. There's also a great chocolate fudge cake recipe, and a few new options for breakfast smoothies,

The book has also has great information about what meat and dairy does to your body, as well lots of information on vegan alternatives to all the food you think you'll miss. If you're looking for a vegan cookbook that covers a wide variety of food, then this is the one to get. Even if you're not-vegan but trying to eat a bit healthier, then you're bound to enjoy all the recipes too.
