The Not Dog

on
Wednesday, 3 June 2015

Say hello to The Not Dog aka the best vegan hot dog you will ever lay your eyes on.

The Not Dog is a homemade veggie dog made from butternut squash, chickpeas, sweet potato, tahini, red lentils, walnuts and lots of herbs and spices. It's then topped with avocado sauce, toasted walnuts, dried apricots, mint, mustard, and there was even some cabbage and other veg on top of that.

Bloc has always one of my favourite bars in Glasgow for food especially before gigs, so it was no surprise that I ended up there last night before Brand New. The Furious Food menu has a few different vegan choices which all look delicious, but there's nothing quite like The Not Dog.

Whether you're a vegan or not, you'll love this hot dog!

I heart Glasgow!

Say hello to one of my favourite streets in Glasgow. This was Ashton Lane last night. It's normally a really pretty street, but it looks like Narnia when it's snowing. It's home to some wonderful bars and restaurants, and I really wish I still lived round the corner from it.

The (very belated) Vegan Life Update

on
Thursday, 20 February 2014
I remember at the start of this year, i had promised myself i was going to blog at least twice a week. It's now been well over a week since my last update, so it's safe to say the plan has totally went out the window.

I figured i would try get back into things by taking the easy way out, and posting some pictures of healthy food I've been eating/drinking/making lately.

1. Baked Oatmeal - (oats, banana, cinnamon and coconut milk) topped with banana, frozen blueberries, coconut, goji berries, seeds (chia, pumpkin, sunflower, linseed and sesame).

2. Smoothie - bottom layer is coconut water, banana, mango, cinnamon and coconut oil and the top layer is banana, mixed berries and wheatgrass.

3. Salad - kale, carrot, beetroot, pomegranate seeds and quinoa with roasted sweet potato and peppers.

4. Haggis Pizza from Stereo in Glasgow - haggis, muhammara (spiced red pepper and walnut), tomato sauce and olives.

Abandon Ship Apparel Store Comes To Glasgow

on
Tuesday, 29 October 2013
On Friday, one of the most exciting labels in Glasgow is opening up a pop up shop right in the centre of town. Abandon Ship Apparel (visit their website here if you haven't already stopped by) formed in the city a few years ago, and ever since their clothes have been selling everywhere.

Luckily for me, the shop will be open in Princess Square for three months which covers both Christmas and my birthday (it's January 9th if you're wondering). These are my favourite items at the moment, and the ones I'm hoping to get my hands on. I'm pretty sure i need them all for my holiday to New York in December, so feel free to post my birthday presents a month early.

The label has also just launched it's most daring collection yet. The Koneko Capsule demonstrates just how much the label are pushing the boundaries at the moment, and it's got to make you excited to see what designs they'll be showcasing next year too.
